Why Use A Pest Controller?

A licensed pest controller is trained in a lot more than just applying chemicals. To be licensed they must pass a standard course including detailed modules in pest identification, breeding habits and biology. Their qualifications provide the knowledge and ability to use a range proven methods to stop pest activity and reduce the potential of future infestations. As a starting point they inspect your house to look at any environmental factors triggering the infestation. They know how and where to check for breeding areas and entry points. Once they know the extent of the problem, they will help you select the most appropriate treatment. Many of the treatments used in residential pest control are also used in hospitals, restaurants, cafes and food manufacturing plants. If a chemical treatment is required a pest controller will use only the minimum amount required to do the job, in the areas where it will be most effective. The treatments are designed to have an immediate impact and also provide ongoing protection. Any chemical treatment has to be approved and registered and applied only at the rates and strengths stipulated on the approved label. Based on their experience and knowledge a pest controller will recommend what you should do to avoid or minimize further problems, for example blocking off access points or controlling moisture level.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes, all of of our work comes with a full warranty.

Is Pest Control Sprays Safe Around My Children And Pets?

Yes. We only use the safest, latest and fully tested products available. The treatments are also used in hospitals, schools, child care centers, food manufacturing and many other sensitive situations. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are available available on request. In the interests of being extra careful and for full peace of mind there may be certain situations when we ask you to vacate the house during treatment. For instance, if very young children, someone who is pregnant, or allergy or asthma sufferers are present. This is fully discussed and explained with you in advance and we will seek your permission before applying any treatment.

Can I take care of my pest problems myself?

In some instances, yes. Retail products that are available, if used properly, can control pest issues. In other cases, a professional pest control operator, who will be in possession of equipment and materials that are not available to the average person, will be better suited to address the your needs.

Is your Products safe?

All products are approved for use by the Environmental Protection Agency and when used according to label directions present no significant health risk. Material Safety Data Sheets for all of our products are available upon request.

What Types Of Treatments Are Used?

Treatment is a general term use to simply describe the many methods and options available to a licensed pest controller. Options include gels, pastes, baits, granules, dusts, mist sprays or water based liquid sprays. The type of application used is determined by the type of pest, infestation severity and the access to the problem area. In some situations, more than one type of treatment may be required.

Do I need monthly service for my home?

No, although twice a year service (Spring/ Autum) that coincides with peak levels of pest activity is sufficient.

Do I have to sign a contract for pest control services in my home or business?

No. BugZero does not require a customer to sign binding contracts. You may cancel our services at any time for any reason.

How do I keep mice out of my home?

Since mice can squeeze through the tiniest of cracks and are excellent climbers, complete exclusion is often not possible. Obvious openings can be caulked and steel wool can be used to plug visible gaps. Typically an effective control program involves trapping or baiting mice once they have entered the structure.

How Often Should I Have My House Checked For Pests?

Generally a yearly inspection for termites and other pests is the best way to minimize pest infestations from developing. Depending on the type of pest and environment more regular treatments may be required.

How Much Does It Cost To Get Rid Of A Pest Problem?

This will vary greatly depending on the type of pest and the level of infestation. Most pest control companies will give you a price for a standard pest treatment but make sure you understand exactly what you are getting for that price. A good pest controller will explain this for you.

Is There Any Odour When You Spray For Pests?

Generally no. Most treatments are odorless.

What If I See A Pest After A Treatment?

Our treatments will see a strong reduction in the level of pests although total elimination may take several days. It’s not unusual for pests to move about after a treatment. For example cockroach gels or baits are designed to encourage movement towards the bait.

I have been seeing big black ants in and around my home. What are they and can they do damage to my home?

These are most likely carpenter ants and while not as voracious as termites they are classified as a wood-destroying insects. They will often times chew the wood to make hollow “galleries” in their efforts to establish a suitable nesting site. They are often found in areas of the structure where moisture exists, as this wood is much easier for them to attack.

I recently used BugZero's services to get rid of the 8 legged monsters in and around my house. Within the same day bodies were turning up, flies were dropping and the ants have disappeared. I would highly recommend the company as they were very friendly to deal with. It was all the better as I found the BugZero technicians competent and trustworthy. I will definitely be using their service again.
